Warren Garst was a partner with his brother Edward in the Garst Store but was not an experienced salesman. A prospective bridegroom came in the store to buy a wedding suit so Warren sold him a black one. The day after the wedding the young man returned and complained that the suit had no pockets Upon taking this up with the manufacturer, Warren learned that he had sold the young man a shroud.
